Scuba Diving/Snorkeling
Dive into the tropical warm weather filled with coral reefs. Enjoy swimming among the hundreds of fish species and marine life, such as barracudas, monkfish, dolphins, rays, and even mantas. The best time for diving is March/April when the sea is crystal clear with wonderful visibility and the waves are very calm. The main five diving locations in Socotra are Dihamri Marine Protected Area, Rosh Marine Protected Area, Adho with deep dives, and the eastern tip of the Island called Ras Irsil and western Shouab coast, both with shipwrecks. The diving centre, run by a professional diving instructor (trained under the UNDP project), is situated in a camp in Diharmi, p.a. The center also rents scuba diving gear.
